Default 04 Ram 5.7 Tow Haul Mode

My bother has a 04 5.7l Hemi ram. We have decent size camper and when he tows with the tow/mode it will gear hunt between 3rd and 4th. He is wanting to lock out 4th (like my '07 does). Is it possible with a programer to change shift points ONLY in tow/haul mode so he can keep his truck from trying to shift up all the time? Or is there any other ways you guys have figured out to keep t his from happening. Thanks

I try to manage it by planning my routes and using my foot. I find i save a lot of fuel that way too. My furthest camping spots are 3 to 5 hours away and i find routes that cut out as much interstate driving as possible. If i can stay on relatively flat pavement and keep it between 55 and 60mph, i can usually find a sweet spot where it will stay in gear. If the speed limit is above 65, i have found it *******ly impossible to do. I have been surprised by the negligible difference in time and distance doing this makes in most cases.

I know the superchips tuner is supposed to have a tow program you can load but i am not sure what it adjusts or if it allows you to fine tune it. I bought one a couple of years ago but i was never able to get it to load on my truck.

We also have a decent size camper and it definately takes a steady foot and a lot of attention to keep it in the right gear with the 3.55's. You get used to it after a while but I don't know of any lockout solutions on the '04. However changing my gears made that a moot point.
