replaced this door in april 2012 and the same one is broken again. Even though the cost is a lot higher for the heater treater door I think its worth it instead of dealing with this crap again in 2 years. I live in AZ and I need my re-circ A/C. lol

Good info! Thanks for the write up! Mine doesn't have this problem but at pushing 10 years old it can't be too far away. Better to know now than to search and whatnot to find a solution lol

I replaced it with the factory door, and the cost at my local dealer was about $80.00. Did not know about the dorman part back then and did not hear about it until after I ordered my heater treater door. Tried to go cheap last time, and decided I would spend the extra 40 bucks compared to the factory one and fix it for life. Also if any other doors break heater treater only charges about $45 for the other doors after you purchase the 1st one.

great post, i had same problem, heres my hillbilly fix, take blower motor out and reach up and pull broken door out, remove glove box and you can see fresh air screen, you can put a piece of dynamat over screen or other sticky junk (no duct tape it falls off) or what i did, go to home depot buy a can of expanding foam poke a hole in the screen from the glove box, stick the can and nozzle up the blower motor hole and into hole in screen and squirt away, no more fresh air but it takes 15 mins and only costs 5 bucks and works great

Default Recirc Door

Just replaced my recirc door on my 03 Ram truck, it was a pretty easy job except for the back screw on the motor, good thing i had a flexible extension screw driver that made it much easier to take off the motor.

I've been "living" with this now for 2 plus years. I always seem to forget about it during nice weather. But come Hunting Season... COLD FEET!!

Also I have the Infinity sound system so it's gonna be a pain in the Butt regardless.

out,
