2004 Ram 5.7L Cranks but won't start and run
Hi everybody...I got in my Ram this morning, turned the key, and the truck fired right up like always...then, it stalled out about 2 seconds later and wouldn't run after that. I can crank it over and occasionally it will fire but won't start and stay running.
Fuel pump does run when I turn the key on; pushed the schrader valve on the fuel rail and it spits fuel out (don't know how much pressure it has yet).
I took the airbox off and tried spraying ether in the intake, with that it will fire a couple times but then crap out right away.
Initially I would think fuel delivery problem but I'm hoping for some input. Oh, and I don't get any codes when I scan it..
Thanks everybody,
-Ryan

My hemi was doing the same thing. Turns out the camshaft sprocket bolt had sheared off a well as the dowel pin. Be careful trying to start it mine backfired through the intake and blew a hole in the manifold. Will it run on ether only it isn't running it is dieseling the ether. Check your crankshaft position sensor if that is good check your cam shaft by pulling one of your valve covers off and turning the harmonic balancer by hand. If that doesn't cause you're valves to move then your camshaft bolt is sheared.
