painting question,need advise!
Ok guys i need to blend paint from a aresol can that's the color code for my truck,05 1500. my question is when last year i did my drivers side quarter i masked it off and it left a fine line from where i painted..tried on another spot without masking tape and it left over spray that i didnt like..i'm not a great painter so maybe i'm doing something wrong.. or forgetting to do another step.. i will take any advise i can get.. thanks guys in advance..

Dupli color is great. lightly sand down the over spary with 300 grit sand paper, and lighly sand down the whole area your going to mask of.
Lighly sand is the key, with even pressure threw out the area you want to paint.
Run a air hose or hair dryer over the sanded area, start at the top of the area you want to paint and spry down.
its a good idea to test out the spary can on cardboard to get the feel for the distance and amount of paint thats coming out.
Don't paint over the masking, its thier to protect from over spary, use the edge of the masking as a a guide to paint too, this way thier is not a vissable edge if your painting say half a pannel and than remove the tape.
If you painting a fender and have the door masked off, its ok to get some over spary on the masking.

Your not going to get a factery finish as the paint has clear coat your covering, I do find dupli color to to a excellant chioce in matching up with dodge paint codes.
I painted up my left fender that was rusting, I sanded down the rust, primer and painted, it took me at least three tries to get the piant to blend in and its still not 100% but dam close.
Ironic because I colud not get a quote from a body shop to do this because of the rust, my next kick at this is the drivers door is rusting near the bottom back near the inner door seam.
Its pretty much a try as you go expierance, at this point my truck is never going to be mint anymore, just try to do your best.
