Got a 2003 ram 1500 ST quad cab 4x4 with 5.7l hemi. Overdrive no longer works and i think it just went out. I got the service manual that has the steps to rebuild it. Anyone know what tranny i would have? I cant check the label on it my brother tried to clean the gunk off the label and i now have a bright blank white label on the side. Anyone ever rebuilt the OD and got suggestions on a certain brand i should look into?

Mine went out not too long ago. I lucked out and stumbled on someone who had a good built one (heavy duty rebuild, shift kit & deep pan) he was trying to sell. You might get lucky and only have to replace that set of clutches. Good opportunity to put a better torque converter in. Don't forget to get a quick learn done once you do.
