rear of truck uneven
I have a 2003 1500 and out of nowhere my truck is sitting 1" lower on one side of the rear bed fender. fronts are pretty close but the back measures 39 1/2" on drivers side and passenger side 40 1/2". I did just replace the passenger side upper ball joint, both hubs, and outer tie rods, but I dont think that would cause this. what else could cause this be, could it be bad leaf springs?
You've got the dodge lean. Battery, gas tank, and driver all are on the left side. Makes for extra wear on one side vs the other. New leaf springs out back would be about the only cure I know of. Fronts can be leveled side to side by adjusting the torsion bars.
Yea thats what I thought. I looked under there and the leafs do look kinda straight. I think the rear was up higher years ago but maybe after towing and actually using it as a truck might have worn them out lol. So where can I get new leafs? I looked online and the cheapest I have found them for is about $200 per side with $70 in shipping. Will new leafs actually make the rear straight again? Thanks for the reply!!
I have the same issue with my driver side being lower. Started noticing it look a little off about a year ago and have had a lot of weight in the bed over the last few months and now i really notice a difference. Is this a part that I can go and grab from a junk yard or would used leaf springs basically just give me the same sag since I'm looking for a replacement that is coming off of a truck that is a few years old just like mine? Could maybe look for a passenger side off a junk yard truck so it doesn't have the 'Dodge lean"
