P0455/P0442 Help needed
Ive been throwing these codes now for a few months. had it cleared, Now need to clear it again, Ill have to do a better visual. Is there a way to see fuel lines ontop of tank with out dropping it?
I guess you might be able to use one of those goose neck inspection cameras. Mine is a regular cab so there is just less overall tubing. Check the vent line (the thin plastic tube running up to the filler neck). For whatever reason it was that type of plastic they went for. Run your fingers over it even if you can't actually see it, you can jack the truck up to give your arm a bit of extra clearance. In my case I was able to find one that way. My original assumption was correct (at least in my case) - a large leak should be fairly obvious.
Heres an old thread, i'll bump
Well today I "think" i've fixed and found my problem. 1st I started up front at the purge solenoid. everything there seemed fine. blew thru it, Help pressue, at TB, and Purge valve. Went underneath. went to the carcoal box. took it down. That's when I noticed the evap solenoid had a crack in the housing. While apart i noticed a gross amount of dirt inside the "breather" line coming from the engine comp. took at that out of the old valve. cleaned out the carcoal canister. Put new valve in. Cleared all codes with SC.
Havent seen the code since.
BUT!.... This was pretty weird. I wanted to make sure I there wasn't another hole elsewhere, so I blew into the line that "Y's" with with the line coming off the tank. As soon as I blew into it and held pressure, I noticed I had a lot of pressure coming back at me. took the line out of my mouth, and I had fuel vapour pushing back for a good 3 seconds. So it seems that my check valve #2 in the tank was also sticking??
any thoughts?
