As the title says, will a cap for a 1999 ram fit a 2002 ram 1500? I think the 2002 ram 1500 is the newer body style but not sure if the bed dimensions really changed?

 

fwiw, i sold a 3rd gen topper to a dude with a second gen..

the topper fits except for the rail directly behind the cab.. the second gens are pretty much straight, the third gens have a pronounced bow in them..

it will fit, but it will look goofy.

 

I wasnt even aware they had the same length bed. I always thought the 2002+ had a slightly longer bed at 6'3".
