Default trans flush??

Ive heard rumors before that if you are high milage and have possibly never had the trans fluid changed, not to change it because it may cause more damage since the trans is old and worn out. Is this a crock of **** or true? I haved 140k and was thinking of doing a trans fluid flush cause i dont know if its ever been done before. should i go ahead and do it?

I would just drop the pan, let all I can get out of it come out, change filter, button it up and then top it of with fresh fluid. I'm leary of a flush anytime myself and more so on older mileage transmissions...

I vote on a pan change also. There are ways of changing out the fluid in the trans without flushing it
