Default P0300 code questions

Hey guys,

I have a 2004 1500 with the 5.7L in it. Just recently I replaced my plugs and wires (NGK coppers and MSD super conductor wires), and about a week after, I got on the highway and suddenly lost a lot of acceleration power and the truck just started to run like junk.

Initially after replacing the plugs and wires the truck threw a bad o2 sensor code, but I believe it was because the computer needed to adjust to the new plugs because the old ones were easily the original Champion coppers and Mopar wires. I replaced them when the truck rolled over 109k.

After a day or two of driving though the o2 code went away and I didn't think anything of it. The truck idles great and does haven't a noticeable misfire. The only time it's noticeable is when I'm trying to get up to highway speeds (45+) and it starts to buck and fight the whole way through. It also came back with P0113 Intake Air Temp.

Would the MSD wires cause this? Has anyone else had any problems with them? I know the wires are seated right and the plugs are gapped correctly and that the timing is correct.

The truck is bone stock also.

NGKs are more for imports IMO. I run Champions in my truck as thats what came with it.

109K is a lot of mileage for stock O2s. It would be a good idea to replace them as they are cheap and simply unscrew from the exhaust.

The other part you should think of replacing is the EGR

Well I've got good news. I figured it might have been the plugs or wires beings how finnicky Hemi's are with parts other than OEM but I remembered that when I was doing it, my brother was helping me. While he was helping me I had to get after him for pulling too many wires at once because they'd get mixed up and that's what ended up happening. The truck was igniting on the exhaust stroke and vice versa. Runs great now!

So word to the wise everyone! Don't be a dummy and double check your wires! Rookie mistake, I know, but it happens to the best of us. I do plan on replacing the o2 sensors and EGR valve soon anyways. I'm just glad I don't have to it right away haha.
