Default Will 295's fit with +14 Offset Wheels? I've read the sticky...

I've read the wheel & tire fitment sticky multiple times trying to figure this out. I originally was going to get some Fuel Hostage wheels 18x9 with +1 offset & 5" backspacing to go with 295/70/r18 terra grapplers. I know there would be no fitment/rubbing issues with this setup. I've been shopping around for prices and one shop told me the +1 offset Hostages are on backorder from the manufacturer with no e.t.a. as to when they'll be back in stock. The guy did tell me that +14 offset (5.6" backspacing) is available and there would be no fitment/rubbing issues. Can I believe him? I'd rather hear it from one of you guys first.

I've read that plenty of people had to use 1/4" spacers to fit 295's, but that was with stock wheels. I do not want to run spacers. The difference between the +14 offset and stock wheels is 5mm, which is 0.2", is that enough to clear the upper control arm? My truck will have a 2" level this weekend via Bilstein 5100's.

Ask him if he'll stand behind his opinion and make it right if there are rubbing issues. I just ordered some 305 TG's and am putting them on -12mm offset rims. They'll stick out some but that's better than rubbing.

Problem is that it's an online tire/wheel place. I probably should have been more specific. I am going to call a local shop to get a price comparison and I know they'll stand behind whatever they sell.

I wouldnt put something on that you arent sure about unless they will change it for you.

I ended up ordering my wheels and tires through my tire dealer. I was surprised that the wheel price was almost exactly what i would have paid online after adding the lugs and all. And the tire price was actually better. The online price for my tires was $265 each. My dealer price is $263. And i will get a lot more brownie points for loyalty by going through my dealer for all of it. They go above and beyond for me at times because they see me as a loyal customer. They will pick my vehicle up for service and drop it back off, they have fixed flat golf cart tires for me for free, and offered me loaner vehicles.

Yeah I really have no intention of buying online, I just wanted to find the best online pricing because the local shop will match it if the online prices are cheaper. I'll ask them what they think of the fitment when I talk to them. If all else fails I'll get some -12 offset wheels and just plan on getting fender flares in the future.
