03 4.7 1500 4x4 looking for vibration - how much play-short drive shaft
good day folks, always a pleasure to read everyones' post, they have helped a lot.
i've been trying to find a vibration in my truck for months, replaced the CV's front drive axle shafts, tires, alignment... still have the vibes.
The vibes happen slightly at higher speeds 50-65mph (80-110kmh). Stronger shudder at acceleration at most speeds and usually when i take foot of gas.
Today while looking underneath, i rotated the short (2 feet long ) drive shaft that connects the tranny to the front drive transaxle(?) and found I could "rotate" it about an inch or so.
The u-joints on all drive shafts at both ends seem normal.
Any ideas folks...help please and a big thanks.
