Default 2007 RAM 1500 5.7 oil consumption

My truck is a 2007 RAM 1500 5.7 Hemi
I've had the truck for 3 years with very little oil consumption over that time

About 3-4 months ago I had an EGR valve replaced.
Since then I've had to fill oil about 1-1.5 qts / month.
mileage would be about 1500 -2000 miles/month

Is it a coincedence or can replacing the EGR cause an excessive oil consumption?

If yes, any way I can fix this?

Thanks for any help and information.

Something must be awry. "Cause and effect" and all that.

I dont think the EGR is going to have anything to do with that. But if you have an dirty oily engine, get some GOOD degreaser and clean everything as best you can. Then after driving it some more, look for wet spots at the front timing cover, crank snout, and rear of the oil pan.

If its all dry and clean then youre using it internally which can mean something as simple as rebuilding the head with new valve guides or needing new piston rings
