Default Vibration

I've noticed an occasional vibration at highway speeds, you feel it from the waist down and can see some things in the truck shaking. There doesn't seem to be a condition that I can pinpoint to be the cause, i.e., speed (though it is always on the highway at speeds over 65), acceleration, deceleration, braking, etc. Doesn't seem to feel like a wheel balance, but I will check that out 1st. Truck was just aligned, toe was out a bit. Tires are wearing normal. I heard Dodge is known for bad Overdrive gears that can cause vibration, is that true? That would not be good. Any other ideas? Is this common? U-joint? Driveshaft balance? Truck has only 47K on it, it is a 2005 Ram Daytona QC.

My truck does this as well. It is internittent and i suspected it is from my tires as my truck sits for long periods of time. It could be from tierod ends as well. Once the truck starts shaking it'll never stop until you slow down. Have you tried pulling over and stopping and then taking back off to see if problem persists?

Gears will not be an issue. By chance, are the tires worn evenly with no knots or separation issues?

Mine has been doing this for years. Between 50 and 60 MPH.
I suspect it has to do with the driveshaft since it started doing it after my carrier bearing needed replacement.
I did just have the rear two U-joints replaced since they failed after only 30k miles. The front one is still original though.
It still vibrates as soon as I hit 50 though.

I'm interested in finding out if you locate the problem.

My mechanic friend said Dodge overdrive gears were infamous for causing vibrations, something to do with pressure when engaging. He told me to try out the trans tuning when my superchips 3865 arrives, he said it may get rid of the problem. Will keep you all posted.
