Quote: Ah the gap is about right between the bumper and tailgate. Really if anything the bumper just looks slightly bent down but who knows it could have been like that since day one.

I think you will be fine when you go have your hitch installed.
Thanks ZWilson. So to be clear even though we've established fitment is not an issue...do you recommend the factory style hitch or the beefier one that mounts to the rails?

I"ve got the Curt Class III p/n 13326. fits great. Advance auto carries them and you can always get a discount.

As long as its the proper class hitch, oem is more than fine. The limits of your particular truck will be exceeded before the hitch would providing that its the proper class obviously. For what your doing you could probably just get a used oem one for cheap. If your going to buy new id probably go with a nice aftermarket one for the money a dealer is going to charge.

They have redneck method for mounting the two bolts in the back of the hitch, but it works. They give you fishwire to snake the mounting bolts inside of your frame, then you just leave the fishwire inside.

Hah yeah not the first time Ive heard that...its a light boat for her size...low gunnels in the aft plus nothing but tank console and capns bench. Fast for her size as a result with just a 175 on the back (prop rated 2thirstyfive)..
