Computer not reading TPS
Vehicle: 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport; 6" Suspension and 3" Body lifts. Super-chip, throttle body spacer, K&N Air Filter and Gibson Cat-Back Exhaust.
The above combination has been running fine since 2005, but last week we had some unusually heavy rain (which we have had before).
After hitting a 12" deep flood on highway, the volt meter jumped around and then stopped working. I assumed battery got splashed. Later it started working again.
The real problem is that shortly after the volt meter incident (On the same drive to work) the vehicle starting shifting erratically, the idle was jumping all over and all symptoms pointed to Throttle Position Sensor. It was put on computer and code "Can not read TPS" was discovered. TPS has been replaced and engine light will not go off, code will not clear, and the vehicle behaves exactly the same.
Assuming the new TPS is good, is it the computer or is there something else I can check?
If it is the computer, can I get a junk yard computer that I can replace without any programing work?
I appreciate the help.
