Air bag VIN# mismatch
Bought a 2004 Ram 1500 this week. Told the salesman I wanted my mechanic to inspect it, he said fine, we'll fix anything that's wrong with it. Ok, i thought. So brought it in today and it's throwing some code about the air bag VIN# not matching? Same thing with an ABS controller.
My biggest concern here is that this truck has been wrecked. It had a clean carfax. The truck is in great shape (from what I can tell) and runs and drives great. Would there be some legitimate reason for these mismatches? I'd like to know before I get all pissed and call the dealership back. The mechanic told me I should give the truck back, FWIW.
