Default 03 Dodge Ram 1500 HID problems

I recently went to get my Suspension Lift and while I was there I decided to see if the mechanic could order me some HID for my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab SLT 2WD. Later that day he called back and said he could not get the HID bulbs because the shop would be liable for some reason as the Blulbs would blow the circuit card for my light switch. Is it not possible to just get a whole new like head lamp unit with HID's in it instead or not. Please help I would like some new HID's.

Thanks

There are hundreds of hid threads on here. Diy's, what you need to do it, and troubleshooting. All you need to do is search. (hint: try the faq/diy section first)

There' a sticky at the top of the page. Check it out. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...k-in-here.html

Impossible for them to "blow" your card when they use less power than halogens btw. Mechanic does not know what he is talking about.

Maybe he's talking the 256x bad circuit limit without a resistor IDK lol. I can see why they don't want to retrofit parts. That being said it's simple to do yourself.

So I figured I want to do it by myself and after reading some other threads I'm assuming I will go with a Canbus 35w 6000K but I dont really know much about it. 1 Are Canbus and Xenon the same thing? 2 Do you guys have any links to a Canbus HID Kit that I can buy. Thanks.
