Default transmission upgrades

I'm starting to build up my 4.7 a lot more and needed advice on what transmission parts should I invest in to beef my tranny up some. And another question, I hear so much about tranny problems in my style truck and want to know if anybody knew exactly what fails on the tranny when it goes out? Is there a part you can upgrade to prevent this?

You can't necessarily upgrade "parts" in the tranny (I believe, dont quote me lol) so much as the whole tranny itself needs to be upgraded. But for a 4.7 you're not going to be making enough power to need or want to pay for either a Sheradon or ATS tranny. I would say the easiest thing is to either rebuild it when necessary or just buy one off a salvaged trucked. A good tuner like SuperChips with the tranny tune can let you control the transmission basically though so you can improve its longevity

I have a few mods so to prolong my trans I stay out of 4th and 5th when going WOT and avoid 2nd prime.

Slt 8 what mods are those?

And yeah 08 Hemi i think you are right you have to just about build the whole thing or its kinda a waste.

Tranny line booster, Hd trans cooler, those are some things you should think about first unless your throwing down a huge amount of power. It would save you the 3,000 dollar tranny build to spend on performance parts like a cam
