2006 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Engine Dies When Stopped
Good evening everyone,
I was hoping to see if anyone else has experienced the following. I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500, 4.7 engine, 4x4. A couple of things i would like to know if anyone can assist me with.
First, the truck has turned off on me when stopped at red light (twice so far). What i notice is that when on drive, the truck trembles quite a bit, not hard, but still can be felt (like a stuttering type of trembling). Interestingly, when the engine turned off, no check engine light turns on, so it's hard to say what it could be and don't know if i should get the codes checked since no light shows.
Secondly, is it normal for a truck like mine, to rev up when pressing the brakes more than once? What i've noticed is that when the truck is stopped, either idle or drive, if i pump the brake pedal more than once, the truck revs up (rpm shows it jumps up from what seems to be 600 rpm to about 1000 rpm). Any recommendations or suggestions?
Greatly appreciate it.
Thanks all.
