Acceleration lag?
 

Whats up fellas, i got an '02 ram 1500 and i have quite a bit of lag, i put my foot down an a noticeable amount of time goes by and then i feel the car start to pull, the rpm's go up right away so the linkage and all is pulling but is there anything i can do to cut down on the throttle lag at all? cold air intake? new spark plugs? If any of you know anything that could help ild appreciate it, thanks :icon_beerchug:

U should feel torque with rpm is trams slipping

That's the stock torque management. The lag you feel actually helps the tranny last longer by killing power as it shifts at WOT. A tuner with torque management capabilities will let you reduce the amount of TM and give you a firmer, more powerful shift at WOT. But you could also start with cleaning the throttle body and grounding it and seeing if that helps at all.

It actually lasts longer with the TM reduced. Quicker, firmer shifts mean less time on the clutches. It only has so much reduction for "driver comfort". Pretty much trying to make it feel like a car.

+2 on cleaning and grounding the throttle body, you will likely see some improvment from that,especially if you haven't cleaned it in a while

I have an auto trans not manual ( sadly ) and wheres the throttle body located on the truck? Can i take it out in my driveway and clean it or does it required special tools?? Thanks guys

Driveway job, its at the top of the air intake system. Search around, plenty of diy info on cleaning it.

Yup, one of the easier things to do on your truck. All you need is some ratchets and non-chlorinated brake cleaner. Two suggestions, keep the sensor towards the top of the TB when cleaning to help avoid drips onto it, you don't want to fry it. The other is you might look into removing the butterfly valve when cleaning, it will make it a little easier to get all the gunk out. There's a screw in the center that you can remove to take the valve out, just remember which way it goes in , you don't want to reinstall it backwards.

well fellas i cleaned the TB really well with a rag n toothbrush and put the stock air filter and all back on and theres very little lag now!! it helped a LOT!! Now I'm gonna make me a CAI with some PVC pipe and then it'll be good to go!! :D Thanks again fellas
