Default intermitten start problem 2002 ram 5.9

My 02 rm has an intermittent start problem.
Last time it wouldn't start I checked for spark and it was good.
I didn't have a fuel pressure gauge but I did spray some starting fluid in the throttle body and it still wouldn't start.
I do hear the fuel pump come on when I turn the key.
I just had it flat bedded to the shop.
They mech tried it before he loaded it and it would not start.
He got it to the shop and it wouldn't start on the flatbed.
He just called me and said when he put it in the garage to check it
it started right up ... and has several times.
It is not showing any codes on the computer.
Any ideas really appreciated.

not always.. a mater of fact, i've never seen one.. that is maybe the single most important sensor on those engines, though.. w/o it, there is zero timing coordinated.
