Default Replacing injector in 2002 4.7? Is it a tough job?

Just had my engine rebuilt and now the tech tells me that the #7 injector needs replacing. I am done throwing money at this shop and think I will change it out myself....I am going to run some cleaner through it to see if it will do the job, but usually things are not that easy with me. (any recommendations on a good cleaner?)
Also, how hard of a job is changing out an injector? Any special tools needed? I have the manual (in my truck) so I will be using that as a guide line, but any idea as to how long of a job it is to do it myself?

Thanks

The thick lucas stuff. Mybe even a little SEAFOAM through your FULL tank of gas.

If that still dosent help buy the injector at ROCKAUTO for the cheap 30 bucks, it basically pops right off

Changing a injector is a snap...Not hard at all...ubolt the fuel rail, pop out the offending injector and pop the new one in...Make sure you release the fuel line presssure though (should be a schraeder valve on the fuel line somewhere first....If I were you, I would replace all 8 injectors at the same time, not just one.

If they just rebuilt it, ask them for a compression test on the cylinders before you throw money at it. Bad compression could feel like a faulty injector. Just because it was rebuilt, doesn't mean it was done right.

Start with the basics.

they did a compression check (and some other things) and said he is 100% sure that the injector is bad. I agree that replacing all would be the way to go but the funds are not there after having to have the engine done. Thanks for the replies.

Replaced it and except for skinning one of the o-rings (which caused a leak) and dropping a bolt into parts unknown, it was pretty easy. Truck runs smooth now. Thanks for all the replies.
