Default 2002 Ram 1500 5.9 Cam

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 with 100,000 miles. I am going to be replacing the lifters in the near future because they have started ticking really loud when it gets warmed up to temp. I want to replace the cam while I have it apart. My question is do I need to use a stock cam or can I get a little bigger cam without having to change anything else on the engine? Thanks.

You'll be better served in the second gen board, but yes, there are cams you can select that doesn't require additional work.. but.. its not recd at all.. you'll wanna swap rockers, springs, and push rods as well as get a custom tune for just about any cam swap.
