hi there i put on 315/70/17 on my 03 dodge ram 1500

would a 285/75/17 tire be taller think of buy it in the near future

im looking more for a taller tire then wide or maybe both taller and wider tire

Your 315/70/17 tires measure about 34.4" x 12.4" while a 285/75/17 would be about 33.8" x 11.2"...
