If you do replace the lower air dam/valance you will have to take the bumper off to get at several screws that are obstructed by the 1500's bumper brackets...been there done that... Just a heads up...

Are you sure? When I replaced my bumper, thats also when I replaced the lower plastic peice, I thought I put it on after I put the bumper on. I could be wrong though.

I also think it looks better with it on, thats why I replaced mine. I thought about leaving it off and saving money but I thought it was money well spent.

Check out RockAuto or PartsTrain on line,their prices are cheaper than the dealer. Sorry to hear about your bad luck.
