Default 2002 Ram 1500 5.9L Cat Delete

Alright guys im doing this for a friend of mine that wants to know whether or not you can run fine without catalytic converters. I want some concrete information from someone that is knowledgeable that isnt just saying they can or cant because someone else said so. On my 00' Camaro I deleted the rear 02 sensors and the cats and it gave me no problems just threw a code and i deleted it. Do these trucks have front and rear o2s? Thanks for any input i tried searching and nothing came up.

I know I'm not the kind of person you asked for but if you want an answer you're most likely gonna get you're quickest answer from people like me. I know the truck will run fine without cats but you will throw a code unless you do the "non fouler" mod with it. You can search that and you might find a better answer. Not sure about the 5.9 but the 5.7s have front and rear O2 sensors

I've got the 5.9L and removed the cat, replaced with pipe, and it runs great. Freed up a bunch of power. I just had the CEL come on the other day, still have to do the Non Fouler trick.

You should have front and rear O2's, just have to worry bout the rear one, unless the pre-cat O2 needs to be replaced....

You can do it, I removed the cats and went true dual on my 2nd Gen 5.9, did the non-fouler trick and never saw a CEL after...

Can you not use a MIL eliminated O2 sensor? On my cougar you needed to use a capacitor and resistor to fool the computer into thinking the cats were working just fine.

Yes you can use what we commonly call a SIM to eliminate the code from the rearward O2 sensor, but a non-fouler will work just as well and costs $5 each...
