My 02 ram 4.7l blew, need some insight
Alright guys, this is my first post bear with me. I have a 2002 ram 1500 with the 4.7 that blew a rod through the oil pan. Ruling out the rebuild I have been calling the two wreckers up here and have no available 4.7s with the 16 tooth crank.
I have done lots of researching and have read posts that you can swap newer 4.7s in, and have read posts where I cant because the newer ones are 32t.
This will be my first engine swap so a hemi would be nice but it seems a bit out of reach to me. I would like a low mileage 4.7 to be put in but I am hesitant it will work because of the 16-32t.
My question is can i put in a newer 4.7? i can get a 05 4.7 with 50,000k on it but dont know what im getting myself into.
