bought a 03 dodge 2500 4x4 about 2 weeks ago. drove it home about 3 hours, mostly interstate, got on the off ramp and truck started sputtering. did all the trouble shooting i could do, ended up getting it towed to let them look at it. gas flow was good, push rods were bent. i went over to see for myself and yes they were bent. mechanic said the combo of a cold air intake and a bully dog caused it. im just not buying that theory, to many people running them for that to cause such a problem.
anyone else have this problem or heard anything like this.
First thought would be you dropped a valve (like so many other 03s). With that being said, since you checked the push rods, did you notice any valve springs broken or valve stems dropped?
I didn't see that far into it... it was in the shop when the valve covers where taken off. I'm having a new motor put in. mainly just wondering about the cold air intake and bully dog, and could the combo kill the engine.
