Default drivers lowbeam headlight ?

Hi All, may be a silly question (i hope).

left (drivers) low beam is out.

high beam works, and daytime running light works on that side

does the headlight have a separate fillament in the bulb for low beam (different fillament to the daytime and high beam) ?

ie is it likely a bulb or am i lookng at a bad connection in the TIPM (i had the TIPM issue before with the left turn signal not working - corrosion on the contacts in the TIPM).

dont want to buy a bulb (what ever that costs) only to find out i gotta get it to the dealer to fix something else

thanks in advance

Swap out the bulb that is fully working on to the side thats not working, than you will know if if you need a bulb, taking out the air box frees up a lot of space( it lifts right out) to get to the bulbs, and thiers enough room on the left side to get out the bulbs, vers trying to apart your whole lens assembly like the dodge bible says to do..

Low beem runs on its own ellement, Dont quote me buy im sure day time running lights piggy back of the low beam, sylviana ultra stars are what I typicaly replace the oem philps bulbs with, next time Im trying some thing else for bulbs ...

Thanks, should have thought of that.

I swapped them, and its still a problem on the left, so not the bulb

Likley a corroded connector in the Power Distribution Module (again)

I guess I have to go to the dealer.

I'm not sure 1) which pin or block it is and 2) I'm not sure if you can disconnect all that without having to use some reprogramming or re learning tool from a dealer ?

Your daytime running lights are half voltage high beams, meaning that the high beams and drl's are kinda together, and low beams are separate.

If the bulbs didn't fix it, I guess it'll be wiring or tipm.

I looked up the wiring diagram for your truck (07 1500?), the left low beam driver is in connector C5, and is pin 4 from what I can tell, it's a white/dark blue wire.

The DRLs and the Highbeams share the same filament... replace your bulb and it should be fine...

I usually replace my bulbs in pairs b/c once one goes out the other usually isn't far behind....
