P0441 LDP Fresh Air Filter
Good morning fellas. I've recently been getting the P0441 code on my 07 Ram. I visually checked all the items that I've read on different threads on this website for cracks etc, but couldn't find anything wrong. The small dealer who I bought the truck from offered a 3 month warranty on it so I let them look at it. Their "Dodge Guy" noticed that the "Fresh air vent" coming out of the Leak Detection Pump (back by the Evap canisters) did not have a vent cover over the end of the tube. He said that he wasn't sure, but maybe some rain or mud got flung into the vent tube which caused the problem...
Anyone familiar with this vent line and whether or not it should be open at the end or have some kind of breathable cap? I do not have service manuals for the truck yet and like to at least try to fix stuff before sending it to someone who knows what they're doing!
Thank you in advance

ANY vent line from ANY part of ANY car I've EVER seen has had a cap on those tubes. It's like a little mushroom topped looking thing, stops stuff from getting in.
So yes, it should have some kind of one way cap on it.

In this picture that I found, the tube I'm talking about is #7. Took the truck to a different dealer the other day and they say that there isn't anything to cover that tube. I don't necessarily buy it considering I continue to get the P0441 code... I'll keep you posted
That tube looks larger, and looks like it should connect to another tube.
Vent tubes are usually smaller in diameter, like 1/4" OD, and they run up high to stay out of large bodies of water.
the vent tube for my front diff. is up in the engine bay near the battery.
