Leaking water/ blower motor
Hey guys, I have a 2002 ram 1500 and am having a blower motor problem since I got the truck about 2 years ago. My dad was the previous owner so I am familiar with the trucks history. The air conditioning/heater only works on its highest blowing setting. I figured this was a blower motor issue and would deal with it when I was ready. But most recently this winter season, there has been puddles of water on my passenger floor mat from excessive rain, and only when I am parked on my driveway (uphill). I followed the drips of water and they are coming from my blower motor resistor. So now I believe that the two problems are interconnected. What I believe the problem is, is that there is a leak in the cowl grille (not sure if I'm saying that right, but its the black strip with the wiper blades in it that touches the windshield) and the leak has somehow gotten inside of my blower motor resistor and/or blower motor. I also noticed that the leaking problem persists even when its not raining. Condensation builds inside of the cab and gathers to a film of water on the inside of my windshield. Has anyone else experienced this problem and can offer a solution? Is it possible to repair my blower motor/motor resistor myself? And how do I remove my cowl grille to find this leak? What is the best product to repair the leak? If I cant find the leak under my cowl grille (by running water over it) does that mean there is a leak in my windshield or somewhere else?
Any help is appreciated, thank you!
