Default CEL clearing itself?

My 2005 5.7 4WD has been throwing a 2706 that I posted about a week or so agao. I restart it or clear the code it's good for a day or two before it does it again. Thing is it cleared itself the CEL went off with out me manually clearing it. Is this a PCM issue or still shift solinoid issue?
I've checked all the wiring everything looks good.

Could be a wiring issue. Check and make sure all the wiring is good. Also check for a loose connection. I have the same problem in my Durango, and everything im reading is saying it is NOT an internal transmission problem but an electrical fault. You can do the heat test and see if it pulls the code. Basically what i did is hold a hair dryer set on low until the solednoid got hot and it threw the code. Thats how i did it. maybe not the proper way but i got it to throw the code that way.

I am betting it is a wiring issue as well.

But without an actual code reader to see if it is a permanent code or a temporary code we can't be 100% sure, so you'll have to do some investigating.

Kenneth's method is actually one way some shops do it, cept they use a heat gun for a little faster response, but hair drier will do, just make sure your old lady isn't too attached to it... lol

code reader gave P700 and a P2706 has been doing it for a while. So there real and youll feel a down shift when it does it and The CEL comes on. But this time the light went off by itself. Thats what I was wondering about.

Robby my durango does the same thing. it is basically the solenoid not working properly or getting "stuck" i can clear the codes and it will be good for a week or more, or sometimes an hour. i feel a hard downshift and it is fine after that. Shifts normal and drives normal as well just has a check engine light on. To replace it there are two solenoids in there. one is the shift solenoid you are looking for and the other is the overdrive i believe but dont quote me on that. on rock auto you can get both for about 160ish. to replace drain fluid remove pan, remove valve body, remove solenoids, replace solenoids, replace valve body, repalce pan, fill fluid and voila your done. the filter are supposed to be lifetime but i would replace those while you are in there. two of them spin on and flat filter. not really hard to do just messy as well. i used one of my wifes old sweater tupperware container but dont tell her.....lol

let me know if you need anymore help. i know i dont have many posts but ive been doing this for a few years....lol
