Default Throttle Cable question

We recently replaced the enigine in this truck ( 5.7 Hemi). Everything works fine except the throttle cable. It sits pretty close to the floor, and you cannot press it far enough to make it down shift when trying to accelarate (mainly while pulling a trailer, truck seems decently normal without a trailer). I am not sure if the guys that took the cable off the pedal lost a spacer or clip or something. Right now the cable sits in the slot in the top of the pedal. There is a metal 'stopper' at the end of the cable, and that is all. Any ideas here???? Can I adjust the cable??? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Shouldn't matter as all 5.7s have electronic throttle bodies so as long as the wire is attached to the pedal and the TB a signal should be sent

Thanks for the reply. I just figured it out. There is a black plastic 'spacer' that sits between the end of the cable and the front of the pedal. This takes up the slack that was in the line, and raises the pedal maybe another 3/4" off the floor. I knew it was something silly.
