Default blinker switch

So recently my blinkers went crazy on me and seem to have a short in the switch (guessing). sometimes when i turn my left blinker on it turns on the right instead and sometimes no right blinker at all so I figure I need to replace the switch.

I know this is a 1 piece unit that wraps around the column has anybody else done their's and how much of a pain is it with the air bag in the steering wheel? Is it worth doing myself or should i just pony up the greenbacks for a garage to do it?

You can do the repair yourself, just disconnect the negative cable on the battery and wait a few mins for the capacitator to drain of power. Then all you have to do is remove a few screws.
