shake after 4 wheel drive
Hi guys,
I tried a search and came up empty, but here is my issue:
During 4 wheel drive, the truck drives fine. When I return to 2 wheel drive, the truck shakes pretty bad during the remainder of the trip.
After I start the truck back up again, the shake is gone.
It does not have push-button 4 wheel drive, just the floor lever.
The shake resembles something like a mismatch in front and rear diff. gearing.
Anything electronic I can look at?
Any ideas are appreciated.
Jason

I may have figured out my own problem.
I always used to shift into (and out of) 4wd either stopped, or traveling very slow. While drving slow, I would release the throttle when engaging or disengaging...Similar to shifting a standard shift vehicle.
I saw a post where someone said to engage and disengage while on the throttle, then release right after that.
This procedure has seemed to have cleared up the shaking issue.
Perhaps this is common knowledge, but I'm not a very seasoned 4wd guy.

Shifting in and out of 4HI can be done traveling up to 88KPH on the fly.
To shift into 4LO you need to be rolling at 2-3MPH, shift the transmission into neutral, shift into 4LO, then shift the transmission back into drive.
Complicated procedure.
