Default Front Bumper Questions

I am able to get a fair price on a Ranch Hand style front bumper. The seller says that he spoke with a local Dodge dealer and the bumper will mount as is to all models (1500, 2500, 3500). Does anyone have first hand knowledge if a 2007 2500/3500 bumper would be compatable with a 2007 1500?

I have heard of the 2500/3500 having different mounting brackets but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The ranch hand will add weight to the front though so you may want to compensate for that as well

Might want to watch the weight you put on the front of a 1500 with the IFS though.. 2/3500s havea a solid front axel, which is much more durable...

Good points. Any estimate at what weight it could really become a concern? 150#? 200#?

Would the main concern be part ware? Or would it be the front drooping/sagging causing the need for a leveling kit/lift?

I can tell you that the 1500 has welded frame mounts for the front bumper that cannot be removed. the 2500 3500 has a bold on frame mount. If the ranch bolts to the mount youll be fine if it bolts to the frame direct you may have issues.

Accellerated wear of suspension points (ie Ball Joints, shot mounts, A arm (I think that's what they are called), hubs..

I don't know where the limit would be... I'll leave that for someone with more knowledge to give you an idea on that.
