Multiple cranks to start
Hello, first post, point me in right direction if necessary.
My 02 Ram 1500 is having trouble starting. Takes at least 3 cranks before engine starts, and starts very rough. Engine light has been on for some time, but at last diagnostics, only problem showing was spark plugs, which were then replaced (and didn't help problem.) Was also experiencing a rough idle, but replaced the idle air control valve, which fixed that part. Slightly overdue for an oil change, but other than that everything seems to be in order. Ideas/suggestions/leads? Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. When it's cold, like near freezing it seems to start up more easily, only codes I have right now are purge valve and Transfer Case Switch. I usually have to hold down the gas pedal to get it to start sooner.
It would help us a little bit to know which motor you have in your truck.
Also please see the link at the bottom of my signature for instructions on how to get the check engine light codes (aka Diagnostic Trouble Codes, DTC) so you can post them up so we can better assist you.
Off the bat without any additional information I can say a few things:
1) Possible Fuel Pump Problem
2) If you didn't use Copper Core Spark plugs that could be part of the problem
3) Possible Crank Angle Sensor or Cam Angle Sensor problem
4) Clogged Fuel System component, likely an injector. (will need a fuel pressure reading at each rail)
That is all I can speculate at the moment, and Welcome to Dodge Forums!
