I'm trying to locate the wire that goes to the main dome light. I'm running welcome leds that will go on and off with the dome light (in turn lighting when unlocked)

I know the wire is yellow with a green stripe. I can only see it in the head liner, but I haven't pulled the A pillar yet, I was hoping to tap into it as low as I can, since the lights are going outside the truck. Anybody know where this wire is located under the dashboard?

 

i think it goes down the passenger side A pillar. so i would assume you could track it from there

 

It should go down the passenger side, but sometimes it goes to the map lights/Overhead display and then gets taped up with the rest of the wires and goes out.

You should be able to pry up the dash (the front most part separates from the rest of the dash) and find it in there.

I couldn't tell you where it goes from there though.

I would assume it runs nearly straight down behind the radio and/or glove box then out through one of those grommets to the TIPM/Fuse Box (depending on MY).

 

The wire should run from the dome lights, down the A-pillar and into the cluster. the cluster controls the lights.
