here lately most of the time I get in my 05 ram 1500 2wd, the shifter is stuck in park and wont budge, I usually press the brake pedal up and down and move the steering wheel around and it eventually slides down into gear like normal... any idea on how to fix this?

 

well it might be an issue with the brake assembly that isn't disengaging the safety or it could be the lock cylinder not working right to disable the secondary anti-theft lock....

You will have to specify which action (steering wheel or brake) allows you to shift it out of Park....

Let us know if you can narrow it down.

 

Well it seems to be the brake that ends up allowing it to shift out of park, so how would I go about fixing that?

 

Was hoping that wasn't the case... b/c I'm not sure on the brake assembly...

I would assume that it is an electronic safety, so if I was you I would contact a service manager or master tech to see what they think it might be....
