So, you turn ignition to run but not start, all dummy lights go out along with the brake light? and then when you start it up it comes back on?
Does it flash while your driving? If so, that's your parking brake sensor. Check the ground on your parking brake. If the ground is loose or the switch portion of it is bad then the brake light will flash when in motion. I believe you should hear a chime as well??
I would check your fluid level inside the master cylinder reseviour under the hood. Your probably low. If so, then you have a small leak somewhere. I'd flush all old fluid out in an 06 anyways. Nobody ever does it and it's really due every 30kmi to keep fresh as it absorbs moisture and rusts out calipers and lines from inside out plus it reduces braking performace drastically.
