When I smoked mine u could just barely see smoke coming from top of tank and
No way possible to see if it was a tank failure or sending unit failure . I think mine was under .0040 leak very small. Once I made sure it was sending unit and pulled ring it was a obvious fuel pump failure . Plastic had cracked just under ring . This can't be commen just letting u know what mine was .

Okay we'll I just installed my cap and right before deleting the codes I made sure to check what codes were on, it had p0440, p0456 so the p0456 came on not long ago after replacing the nvld pump so here's to it is the gas cap...

Well p0440 is back I'm pretty frustrated now with it. I knows there's gotta be a crack or brake in a line. I can hear a weird humming noise coming from under my hood that I've never heard before. I think I'm just gonna have dodge look at it

That isn't a bad idea, might get a touch expensive, but they will be able to tell you where it is leaking from.

I am curious did you try the brake cleaner spray method on the vacuum lines and intake manifold in the engine bay?

Then it's time to bring it in and have them take a look.

Hope it's nothing too serious/expensive.

smoke test it, that will give you a pretty good indication... the next thing they will likely do is check your work when you swapped the NVLD system.

Well I just got my truck back from dodge. After a 110 dollar inspection the only code that was on at the time was p0440 and after a few further tests they found out the new nvld pump I installed from napa was defected. That doesn't surprise me, I purchase alot of parts from napa for all sorts of equipment and vehicles and that has happened to me before. So after an 80 dollars mopar nvld pump I've got it installed and hope no more codes come back on.
