I'm looking for a new starter. I've been turned on to the idea of getting a higher performance unit, with a high ratio and torque, rather than an OEM unit from Napa. Any thoughts on this?

If the engine is stock, what is it you are trying to gain?

A starter is a starter. I suspect even the folks who have done serious mods are still using the stock starter.
