Default Front Carrier replacement questions

I got stuck in the mud a while back, real bad.
When I finally rocked it free, it headed straight towards a tree.
I slammed on the brakes, and managed to mash the gas and brake at the same time:

Munged it up real good.

A few questions:

How difficult is it to replace the entire front carrier?
It looks like the cheapest option, as I don't trust myself to install the ring and pinion.
From what I can see there are two mount points, the connection to the front driveshaft, the electrics to the locker, and the breather.

It looks like they run from $300-700 on car-parts.com, is there a better source?

If I go pick this up at a junk yard, am I going to be able to lift it, or do I need to enlist some help?

Any helpful advise appreciated.

3.55 gear ratio, not interested in changing ratios.

Thanks in advance.

No one has ever swapped out the front carrier?
No advise, insights, thoughts?

Replacing the entire front differential is more time consuimng but overall easier for the average joe.
I think you'll pay the same in the end.
In the end, you'll have either a used 100kmi differential or a new rebuilt differential.
I'd pay a garage to rebuild it if I was you. You'll have new bearings, new gears..etc
Shouldnt be more than $250 in parts and $350 in labor
