Default 06 Ram 1500 4x4 light issue

I have a 2006 Ram 1500 4x4. For some reason the brake lights dont work at all when I touch my brake peddle. When I turn my light on my tail lights and brake lights come on. Has anyone heard of this or know what might be wrong.

Kenrod86,

I don't see any recalls related to brake light issues, however if you'd like to send me your VIN# I can confirm this for you. Have you tried changing the bulbs to see if they need to be replaced? You might want to bring your Ram to a Dodge dealer to assist pinpointing your concern, it may help save you time and money in the long run. PM me if you'd like any assistance booking an appointment or have any other inquiries.

To me it sounds like your wires are crossed up some where or an issue with the brake switch. Did you recently purchase the truck? If so wonder if previous owner had some sort of aftermarket tails on it or something. Get a meter and start tracing out wires and voltages. Download a manual from weedaho's signature.

This happened to me last week. When it was happening i noticed my cab brake light wasn't working at all.I changed the bulbs and still nothing.I finally started checking fuses. The fuse for the cab brake light was blown.I replaced that and eveything workes now. It's labeled cmhsl or something like that.
