CAI K&N Model #'s for 08 1500
I have done some research on these online and had decided to go with the 63-1529, which shows as a matching model for the 08 1500 4.7L. I spoke with an online retailer last night who mentioned the 57-1529 model which shows as a matching model for 02-07 Rams is actually identical to the 63 series but the only difference is the 57-1529 is 50 state carb approved and includes the necessary stickers to prove it. The 63-1529 does not.
In addition, the 57 model is approximately 40 bucks cheaper. Can anyone on here confirm or deny the statement above regarding these 2 models being identical? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think I'm going to take the chance and go with the 57-1529, the order has already been processed so we'll see. Thanks dirtydog for the info! I'll post a follow-up after I install the CAI in a week or so.
My buddy has a 2011 4.7 (same engine as you) and got a K&N that i helped him install. There are holes on both sides but they provide a vacuum extension and a cap so there won't be any open holes unlike with my ebay one. I just taped up the hole though and haven't had any issues
Well, I spoke with K&N support and they did verify that the 57-1529 and 63-1529 are the same, even though all retail websites do not reflect the 57 series will work with the 08 4.7L 1500.. They also stated that even though they officially do not recognize the 57 as a working model for the Ram 1500 4.7L, 08 and above, they are usually pretty lenient with applications like this so they will cover the warranty. Supposed to receive the intake tomorrow. Looking forward to installing this weekend! Just wanted to put this out there for anyone else looking for an answer to this issue.
