Default PS Leak

I have a SMALL drip where the lines meet up to the steering rack. Its just a couple drops after I drive to work over a 8 hour period of it sitting. Does this sound like its just the lines or the seals in the steering rack? I had a buddy look at it when I had my oil changed today and he told me its nothing to even worry about to just check the fluid and make sure the spot doesnt get any bigger. I just like to double check these things.

Might be a simple as a loose clamp on the return line from the cooler. You can replace the original clamp with a worm type clamp and keep it snug. I'd give that a try first and see what happens.

I just got done with replacing my pump. It started out I saw a small leak but couldn't determine where it was coming from because it was so slight. I bought some tracer fluid that is compatible with hydraulic systems. I put a teaspoon of it in the pump and drove it for a while. With a black light and some of those red laser light glasses and/or the yellow'ish glasses found it was coming from my pump.

Again I did it just to be sure I wasn't chasing ghosts and to make sure it wasn't some fluid that I may have spilled filling it. Just be sure to give it a good cleaning with some engine cleaner/steam cleaner/degreaser before or if you do use the tracer fluid.

Its all over the steering rack.. It doesnt even look like its used that much really but I guess a few drops go a long way to covering things! Ill probably just have my mechanic look at it next week or the week after, I just wanted an idea on what it might be. Hopefully its just a small drip from a line.

For what it's worth, my line/clamp was leaking for a long time before it accumulated enough all over the driver side of the rack and drip to the floor. That line is right over the unit so it soaked it pretty good. Could even be a mix with engine oil on there from the last oil change with the filter right over.
