%@$#&&% brakes!!!
2005 ram 1500 quad cab 4x4. front brakes were growling a bit so i thought i had better change the pads and check the rotors. Pulled everything off, pads were pretty much non-existant but the rotors were still in good shape so i put new pads on (went ahead and did the rears too). Everything went well, pretty straight forward job. So , got everyhtin back together took it down the road and the front brakes growl even worse when i brake. rotors were too hot to touch! Now i'm p-----d. What can be wrong?

Sounds like you glazed/gouged the rotors... and brakes are always hot after you drive around and use them bro...
Replace the rotors (and pads too) and you should be okay.
You might want to replace the clips that separate the pads off the rotors too.

nah I saw it... but if you glazed the rotors the new pads won't help...
You can try to have the rotors turned by a shop, or just put new ones on and call it a day..
And when you replace rotors you need to replace the pads too, if you don't then you will mirror the imperfections on the old rotors on the new rotors... ask any mechanic around, they will tell you the same thing.

Take the brakes back off then take some mild grit sand paper to the rotor. Sand up and down not round the rotor to break the glaze. Then do the samething to the pads. Put everything back together.but before you put the wheels on, turn the rotors around and make sure the backing plate or something like that isn't rubbing the rotors. Mine was doing the same thing and I did this and it fixed it

it was only makeing the noise when i applied the brakes. I took everything back apart today and put new rotors on, the new pads had just started to glaze a tiny bit so i gave them a very light sanding, put everything back together and so far it seems to be working like it should. We'll know more tomorrow when i can actually put some miles on it. But, i think all is well now. Thanks for everyones advice I appreciate it.
