Help with install of Yukon Dura grip
I started installing the Dura Grip LSD today and ran into trouble putting things back together. The axle retainer "c" clips would not fit back on. The axles need to be a little longer.
The spider gears on my stock diff were blown apart, so I can't compare all the new carrier's demensions to the old one. The over all size is exactly the same.
I'm reusing the ring and pinion gears. The ring came off much easier than expected. I heated it and it dropped right on the new carrier.
I had the carrier bearings pressed on at a machine shop. They are pressed all the way down. The bearings and races appear to be exactly like the old ones. There are no shims or spacers under the new or old bearings.
There is only one part number for the 9.25 rear, so I don't think I was given the wrong carrier.
Has this happened to anyone else?
