Double Din in a 02 Sport 1500 w/ Infinity
Hey guys,
I am looking at putting in a Pioneer AVH-X2500BT double din unit. I am getting the dash bezel and mounting brackets from weedahoe. My question is about the stock Infinity sound system.
I want to use the stock speakers.
I don't want to run any custom wires to the doors.
I want it to sound the best that it can.
I don't have Siruis satellite radio
.
I don't care about having the steering wheel controls work with the HU.
Do I run everything off the Pioneer HU and bypass the Infinity amp?
Do I run everything off the Infinity amp?
Whichever route is better, which harness do I need?
Thanks for your help!

I understand that, but my question is: Is it going to sound better using the Pioneer HU as the amp, or the stock Infinity amp?
weedahoe told me there are 3 different harnesses:
1 is for the non Infiniti truck
1 is for the Infiniti truck in to bypass the infinity system
1 is for the Infiniti truck and to keep the infinity system

I installed the 3200BT in my truck. I was looking for the simplest installation so I have the unit going through the inifinity amp. From memory I think it is a blue wire that activates the infinity amp. I'm not sure what you have to do to bypass it, but I think it's a little more involved.
I used this harness:
Amazon.com: Scosche CR02B Speaker Connector for 2002-Up Select Chrysler/Jeep Vehicles: Car Electronics
I would think if you get a nice amp, it will sound better, but speakers make a difference too. I would hook it up this way and check it out before you button everything up to see if it sounds good enough for you.

It will sounds MUCH MUCH Better through the Infinity Amp... when you Bypass the amp those infinity's sound like garbage.
It will sound 100 times better with new speakers and a 4-channel amp too, but the OEM infinity speakers are pretty decent until they blow, then they rattle like crazy.
